East Kirkby Parish council Meeting

21st January 2021 – Via Zoom 19.00 start

 

Present: Cllrs B Nowicki (Chairman), C Brandwood, D Brown, C Roe, JH Mussett (Clerk)

 

Apologies: Cllr V Lingard

 

Declarations of interest: None - based on the published agenda.

 

Approval of the October 2020 minutes:

Chairman ascertained that all the councillors had read the September minutes and that they were an accurate representation of events.

Acceptance of the October minutes was proposed by Cllr Brandwood, seconded by Cllr Roe.

Action: Chairman signed the minutes off verbally and will post a copy on the notice-board.

 

Parish Council website: 

Chairman asked if the councillors had been to look at the website and all were very complimentary.

Chairman asked councillors if we should offer website space to local businesses and charge them £50 per annum. It was generally agreed that this would be a good idea. Cllr Brandwood suggested that we contact the local businesses and offer them free space on the website till June 2021.

Suggestion was proposed by Cllr Brandwood, seconded by Cllr Roe.

Action: Chairman and Clerk to make a list and contact.

 

Update from County and District Councillors (Via Clerk):

Economic recovery;  Vaccination letters;   Green waste – Sign up to the green waste collections and enter the ‘competition’ to receive your annual charge for free.

Action: Clerk to send these 3 mails on to Councillors.

 

Financial matters:

Precept: Clerk advised Councillors that the precept of £3,000 had been submitted to LCC.

Clerk’s wages: Clerk’s wages totalling £133.00.

Minute ref: 125/02

Acceptance of clerk’s wages was proposed by Cllr Brandwood, seconded by D Brown. Unanimously agreed at the subsequent vote.

 

Planning applications:

None received.

 

Urgent matters for discussion

Dog mess: Cllr Brandwood asked about the possibility of getting more signs, which Chairman has. Action: Chairman and Cllr Brandwood to put signs up in the village.

Action: Clerk to chase Dog warden

 

War memorial: Cllr Brandwood mentioned that the war memorial is going slightly green with moss.

Action: Clerk to ask Leakes of Louth what product would be suitable to use for cleaning.

 

Parish Council has had a complaint regarding slurry tankers coming through the village and wrecking the verge down on both Fen Road and Chapel Lane as they have to pull off the road.

Action: Chairman and Clerk to write to Hawkes advising them of the problem. 

 

Chairman thanked the councillors for their attendance and contributions and closed the meeting at 19.40.
